Case Study: Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), Central Southern Region
CIPD is the official body for professionals involved in management and development of personnel. Nationally it has 124,000 members while the Central Southern Region has 3,000 members with responsibility for HR and Personnel in a variety of businesses.
The client needed to refresh the newsletter that’s used to communicate with its members in the Central Southern Region, and briefed Infusion to undertake the task.
Before they started work, Infusion:
- Analysed previous newsletters
- Examined the detail of the five regional groups who contribute
- Researched other trade publications
- Analysed the readership and frequency of publication
- Assessed the types of article and regular features
Infusion then developed a new newsletter, a more sophisticated communication tool that reflected the region’s readership. The Infusion creative team worked closely with the Branch Chair and committee members to create the look and style whilst staying within the corporate guidelines.
The refreshed newsletter was launched in August 2006 and this successful publication now plays a part of the branch’s recent increase in marketing activity, having a vital role in the region’s marketing communications portfolio.
